While I was standing there doing long exposures there was a guy down there and he made a fire. And you can see the glow of that fire down there. It kind of hit all the notes .. 'well, I've been standing here, he knows I'm here.' It's inarguably a neat effect. There's something about that space that really captures the dichotomy of what Portland is, or any big city. There's nothing iconic, but it feels like this springboard to so many other parts of Portland. - Scott Fullerton
